Where do the boy scout activities take place?
Wilderness Voyageurs is based in Ohiopyle, PA, which is 1 hour south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is the home to Ohiopyle State Park, the largest land based park in Pennsylvania. Our scout rafting programs occur in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Most merit badge programs occur within 20 minutes of Ohiopyle. Programs can be customized for many locations including Coopers Rock, West Virginia, and Cumberland, Maryland.

Can family members attend scout programs?
We have no problem with other family members rafting or participating in other activities as long as everyone meets the minimum ages. Many scout troops will have the scouts participate in the merit badge programs and open the whitewater rafting trip to the entire family.

What is Wilderness Voyageurs' Boy Scout experience?
We have been operating Boy Scout programs for more than 40 years. We are the primary High Adventure provider for our local councils, Westmoreland –Fayette Council, and the Mountaineer Council. Our Merit Badge counselors are registered with the Westmoreland-Fayette Council.

A little Wilderness Voyageurs History that you may not know: If it weren't for the Scouts, Wilderness Voyageurs may not have come to be.....Lance Martin began leading Scout outings as a hobby in 1959 and just a few years later founded Wilderness Voyageurs. To this day, Wilderness Voyageurs continues to focus its attention on Scouts. Every year we employ many past scouts in leading our programs. Their knowledge of scouting life combined with technical expertise creates an experience that will help your boy scouts & girl scouts learn and grow through adventure activities.
