Cheat Canyon In Albright, WV is class III-IV and is a wild ride! This undamed canyon brings you 11 miles of breathtaking scenery and wild whitewater! You get everything from Class III to Class V! It's big water, so get ready to paddle hard and take a trip you won't forget. Natural water flows are required to run the Cheat, so plan your trip in the spring. Upper Yough Friendsville, MD: Oh yeah! This is the adrenalin junkies trip down Class IV-V whitewater! Steep, technical and Fast! The drops are big and you better be ready to paddle because your guide is counting on you to help steer the fast moving raft through slots and over big drops. Don't forget to breathe! Family Fun If these trips just aren't for you and you are looking for something on the mellow side where you can float, hang out with your family or friends, maybe fish a little, perhaps some swimming. FAQ
What trip is right for me? Well - that depends on how much adrenalin you are seeking. If this is your first whitewater experience, stick with the Lower Yough. If you are ready to step it up - head to the Cheat Canyon or Upper Yough. Maybe even both!
What is the best time of year? For the Cheat it's early spring since the section is not dam controlled. The Lower Yough begins in March and the Upper Yough in May.
Do I need Experience?Not for the Lower Yough. Experience is recommended for the Cheat and Upper Yough.
Do you have 2 day trips?Yes! Join us for a day on the Lower Yough, followed by the Upper Yough.
